Felix Amtsberg

Felix Amtsberg is Postdoctoral research associate at the Institute for Computational Design and Construction and the Cluster of Excellence IntCDC, where he is coordinating the timber prefabrication platform and leads the research for Multi-Actor collaboration.

After completing his apprenticeship as a joiner, he studied architecture at Kassel University and received his master’s degree in 2010. From 2011 to 2016 he worked as a Scientific Assistant at the Institute for Structural Design (TU Graz), where he earned his PhD with distinction in 2016 under the supervision of Prof. Stefan Peters and Prof. Martin Bechthold (Harvard GSD). Between 2016 and 2019 Felix was working as a postdoc at Singapore University of Technology and Design and Massachusetts Institute of Technology investigating new combinations of unprocessed natural construction materials and digital fabrication.

His research interests include novel digital (pre)-fabrication methods of load carrying structures, made from natural grown resources and sensory informed human-robot collaboration.
